Founded on Dec. 12, 1998, the City Island Theater Group has offered a wide variety of theater for members of the City Island community to enjoy at Grace Episcopal Church Hall. Some notable shows include benefit performances for the P.S. 175 Parent Teachers Association, One Act Festivals and Kiddy Kabarets. Many of the actors for the City Island Theater Group have also applied their talents towards helping the community, including as clowns at Fleet Week Parades, celebrating the 101st birthday of the City Island Bridge and caroling on the Avenue and the City Island Seaside Trolley during the holiday season. They have been entertaining audiences through several different theatrical performances, all at a reasonable cost. Community grants and donations have helped make their productions possible.
