Elissa Carmona is a soul singer with roots in gospel. She performs across New York State, promoting awareness for numerous causes, including sickle cell disease, gun violence and hurricane relief. She also got to perform at Carnegie Hall twice in 2015. In 2016, Carmona founded the Morrisania Bands Project, an award-winning musical collective providing vibrancy to residents of the South Bronx through community engagement, social causes and music. She also presented the Unity Park Concert Series, a series of public concerts that were commissioned by the Bronx Council on the Arts and City Parks Foundation, in 2018. In addition to being a Bronx-based singer and songwriter, Carmona is an Air Force veteran and winner of the Arts Fund award in 2019 and SU-CASA award in 2020.
