New Destiny Housing is an inspiring non-profit on a mission to help New York’s vulnerable homeless population, especially children and victims of domestic violence. New Destiny was founded in 1994 to end the cycle of domestic violence and help low-income families secure long-term housing. They use what they have learned from their struggle against violence and homelessness to inform policy makers of the problems domestic abuse victims face. Currently, they support 1,100 adults and children using their services on-site, with an emphasis on family. They have already developed ten supportive housing projects with almost 400 units for domestic violence survivors. New Destiny Housing stresses inclusion and acceptance to combat systemic racism, sexism and homophobia. They work to create a brighter future and protect the vulnerable.
