The Focal Point Gallery is the perfect place for Bronx residents to view works from up-and-coming artists. Opened by proprietor and former photography artist Ronald Terner in 1974, Focal Point Gallery has become a welcome and hospitable haven for artists big and small. Terner also frequently puts out calls to young local artists for their works to be featured at the gallery. Artists from the Bronx and beyond have had their works featured at Focal Point Gallery, across every medium and during different stages of their careers. The gallery features eight exhibitions a year, primarily related to photography. Among the techniques and subject matter used by the artists whose works are shown at Focal Point Gallery are landscapes, pinhole computer images and photographic wall sculpture.
